How did you become a hairstylist?

Short version: I took a class in high school that made me realize it was an option. I did cosmetology school while also taking college courses. The more I did both, the more I realized I didn't love college, but I found that I really enjoyed hair. I graduated both paths of education, getting my associates degree and getting my cosmetology license!

 

Why are you a hairstylist?

I continue to do hair more than a decade later because I love the craft, and I love people. It's been a privilege to find work that feels fulfilling in all ways imaginable. I have had countless life-changing experiences because of this career path, I can never fully express my gratitude for all the ways life led me to this.

 

What do you enjoy doing outside of the salon?

I'm someone who has too many hobbies, always an artist at heart. I paint, practice photography, write poetry, read, I'm learning sewing and embroidery, basically anything I can get my hands on! I also have 3 sweet puppies that take up a lot of my free time, so it's never a dull moment outside of the salon.
